Pumpkin 02 Mar, keith (Australia - temperate climate)
Ive had the very same problem with young pumpkin yellowing them falling off dur to lack of pollination,,, So I tried hand pollination but then the males didn't have any pollen showing on fingers or brush,,, I can only put it down to inmature males ??,,,, any answers to my problem would be most grateful
Pumpkin 05 Mar, gary (Australia - temperate climate)
Had the same problem but found if i opened up the male flowers before they do it themselves , you get a hell of a lot more pollen that way.
Chives (also Garden chives) 02 Mar, Kate a (Australia - temperate climate)
I've planted a herb garden about three months ago and everything is going well except my chives! They're yellow at the tips and keep dying every time there is new growth

Rhubarb 01 Mar, Ian Hitchman (Australia - temperate climate)
I had a very healthy rhubarb plant growing extremely well for 18 months. Have been picking beautiful stalks for the past 4months. All of a sudden during a patch of hot weather (33 to 36 deg c) the plant has died. Was the weather just too hot or have I done something wrong. I thought I was giving it plenty of TLC.

Sweet corn (also corn, maize) 28 Feb, Francis (Australia - temperate climate)
Can you get coloured sweet corn in Australia? If so, where? They have heaps of types overseas, but the only coloured types I can find in Australia are not sweet corn.
Sweet corn (also corn, maize) 23 Dec, Jo (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
Yes you can get diffrent colours, try ebay (check the seller is in Australia). I'm growing Inca purple corn that I bought from a local market... It's huge, I'm so excited!
Sweet corn (also corn, maize) 20 Jun, Maurice (Australia - temperate climate)
There are several varieties of coloured sweet corns available in Australia, please never buy them from ebay as you will rarely get what you order. Google search
Eggplant (also Aubergine) 28 Feb, Louise (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
My eggplants are growing beautifully. They are pretty much full size and have been purple until today. They have now got a yellowish tinge on the skins. They are watered regularly and have heaps of sun. I live in Brisbane Queensland.

Strawberry Plants 26 Feb, Zita Evans (South Africa - Summer rainfall climate)
My plants are strong and healthy withlots of runners but no fruit they are planted in containers in semi shade please advise
Strawberry Plants 05 Mar, Estie (South Africa - Summer rainfall climate)
Strawberries need a sunny position in order to flower and bear fruit. They will grow prolific leaves in a semi shaded position but yield of fruit will be low. Also remember they have a limited life span to bear good fruit - replace your old plants every 3-4 years.
Parsnip 25 Feb, Josie (South Africa - Summer rainfall climate)

Rosella (also Queensland Jam Plant, Roselle) 25 Feb, Rhonda Milliner (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
I have grown rosellas for the first time. They are about 2400mm high and very wide and producing lots of fruit. I've been making jam and cordial [delicious] as well as giving lots away. I can't believe how well they have done and how easy to grow. .I can pick at least a bucketful a week. Tips: I watered them when young and haven't done anything else since except pick. I use scissors to cut off fruit.
Potato 24 Feb, Garth (Australia - tropical climate)
Can these seeds be kept for any length of time, if so how?.
Kale (also Borecole) 23 Feb, Sadie (South Africa - Summer rainfall climate)
Where can I purchase kale. Alternatively can I grow it at home? I appear to have very good soil, my tomato, chilly mint, sweet basil and rosemary plants are really growing well considering that I know absolutely nothing about gardening.

Artichokes (Globe) 21 Feb, Hanns (Australia - tropical climate)
We live in the Philippines, We planted 15 plants about 4 months ago. The plants look great! large and healthy. Im waiting for a flower to come up. Does anyone know if its to hot here or do I just need to wait. I cant wait to harvest our own artichokes.
Artichokes (Globe) 02 Mar, Francois Gouttes (Australia - tropical climate)
Hi, I left Australia few years ago. Now I am also living in the Philippines (Siquijor, Visaya). May i ask you where you found the seedlings ? what specie ? I am originally from the French region of Provence in the South (Mediterranean cost). My village is a big producer of violet artichokes. Violet artichokes are smaller than Green globes, but they are smoother (you can even eat the rod") and their taste is incomparable. There are many varieties of violet artichokes of different sizes. in general, they are more suited to hot climate than the globe. For instance in France, we cultivate the Green globe in Britain (cold northern region) and the violet in Provence (Southern hot region). In Brazil, the violet artichoke has been introduced with full success around Sao Paulo (hot region), while the green globe is cultivated in Argentina (cold country). If anybody knows where and how to get the seedlings, we shall try to introduce this wonderful flower in Siquijor. Thanks in advance.
Artichokes (Globe) 04 Jan, Michelle Sharwood (South Africa - Summer rainfall climate)
Hi Francois try getting your seeds through a seed company that sells seeds online Here in South Africa we have 3 or 4 very good companies who sell seeds online. Try Seeds For Africa, and Living Seeds. I am not sure how to send you their web address but google them.

Re Pumpkin's question : You can leave pumpkins in the ground until danger of frost is passed -- so it may still colour up, depending where you live ...
