Leeks 06 Apr, Pete (Australia - temperate climate)
If you cut the leek about 25mm or so above the roots (leaving the bulb bit) it can be replanted. Haven't tried it myself but a few people have said it works.

Capsicum (also Bell peppers, Sweet peppers) 15 Feb, Bob (Australia - temperate climate)
The long yellow peppers are banana peppers. They can be sweet or hot, most likely sweet. They are great pickled on sandwiches and or used in stir fries. Do a quick search for banana peppers and you should find all the information you need.
Rosella (also Queensland Jam Plant, Roselle) 15 Feb, Helen (Australia - temperate climate)
I've got 4 successful seedlings all about 10cm high. I grew them in a strawberry container on the window sill in the kitchen. Soon I'm going to transplant them into pots. I'm hesitant as by June it is winter here, and it gets very very cold, hence my reason for large pots, I'll keep them either inside or under the verandah. Has anyone else got any tips?

Strawberries (from seeds) 10 Feb, Lachlan Turner (Australia - arid climate)
Alpine strawberries are the easiest to grow from seed. They produce tiny, triangular fruit with an intense flavour. Chill the seeds, in a closed jar or plastic box, 2 - 4 weeks in a home freezer. Allow to return to room temperature in the closed container before sowing. Sow seeds thinly on seed raising mix/compost. Cover with a thin layer of compost and water in. Keep under cover, either in a greenhouse or indoors near a window. Germination takes 2 to 8 weeks. Plant out into small pots to grow on when 3 leaves have appeared. Then transplant to garden when well grown. After about a year the strawberries will form low-growing, leafy plants, between 12 - 15cm (about 6 inches) high and will spread to about 50 - 100cm (20 - 40 inches). They have five petalled flowers, usually white or sometimes pink. The flowers are followed by delicious red fruits, which have their seeds on the outside. Later in the season, the plants send out runners like thin stems, across the garden. They will take root to form new plants. Protect your plants with some sort of netting or bird scarer or you will lose most of your crop. Strawberries like well drained soil with plenty of humus . To prepare your bed, dig in some compost before planting and possibly use a liquid fertiliser during the growing season. Well fed strawberries taste better. To protect the fruit from moulds, use some form of mulch around the plants. Straw, pine needles, or black plastic are all suitable. Mulch will also help suppress weeds.

Onion 28 Nov, Sandra Garcia (USA - Zone 10b climate)
Try Baker Creek; I get all my seeds there, I also use Trade Winds Fruit, Baker Creek has videos and they tell you the temperature that the plant can grow in, but you need to research each seed type to see what weather it grows well in. Read the reviews for the plants to see what others say about it. You can definitely grow everything all year round! Good luck

Garlic 10 Apr, Amanda (Australia - temperate climate)
Hi Moses, I came across information about a man growing garlic in Uganda. Maybe you can find him for some help on how to grow garlic. He is known as Dr Twaha Kakooza and is a resident of Bubajjwe village, Kayunga sub-county, in Kayunga district. He is the proprietor of Shatwa Mixed Farm located in the same area & also doctor of herbal medicine. Regards, Amanda.

Capsicum (also Bell peppers, Sweet peppers) 07 Feb, Charlotte (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
Capsicum rotting from inside out. Look like they are wilting and soft. Can we redig the rotten ones into the patch? We have had very hot summer in QLD, would that be a factor. We currently have chillis growing without much problem in the same patch. Some chillis are a bit soft and wilted looking, but we have had a great success with the chillis. Cooking chillis does that make them less hot? As we are finding they aren't that hot. Also how do we dry chilli? Thanks
Capsicum (also Bell peppers, Sweet peppers) 26 Jun, Matt MCGrath (Australia - temperate climate)
Charlotte, lack of calcium is basically the only cause of the capsicum blossom end rot. That is the brown soft spot that grows on the bottom of Capsicums and tomatoes. Two reasons are that to much fertiliser in the preparation of the bed causes the available calcium to go to the leaves instead of the fruit. The second and main reason is that the bed should err on the alkaline side of the scale. When preparing beds for such plants put a handful of lime of dolomite lime for every square metre in the bed a month either side of any enriching of the bed, as manure will deactivate the calcium. Now is be preparation time in temperate areas.
