Hello Virginia, I enjoy making my own chutney, relish & sauce, I'm not so pleased with my beetroot relish recipe, it seems a bit dry, I was wondering if I asked you nicely would you mind sharing your beetroot relish recipe with me please. If so could you possibly send it as a text message in case it goes into my junk email folder and I miss it. 0400258679 Happy planting. Regards Tony.

Capsicum (also Bell peppers, Sweet peppers) 28 May, Di (Australia - tropical climate)
I have one capsicum plant (came up from scraps thrown out), but grew beautifully and gave us two lovely sized capsicums. Will it refruit? or is that it's lifespan over?
Capsicum (also Bell peppers, Sweet peppers) 29 May, Kevin OBryan (Australia - temperate climate)
Hello Di, Like chillies, if you cut it back gently it will refruit if you are in a frost free area, But you are far better to plant new seedlings every year in spring. I am still picking lots of capsicums from bushes planted last October but they are now much smaller and take a long time to turn red. I should have pruned the flowers from January on wards . I will pick all the remaining green fruit and pickle them. They grow very easily from seed treat just like you would tomatoes. Happy vegy gardening.

Cauliflower 03 Jun, Elizabeth (Australia - temperate climate)
I found that those beautiful yellowish butterflies, lay their eggs on the leaves and when they hatch they eat big holes in the leaves and sometimes in the actual cauliflower. I spray mine with water/dishwashing liquid.
Beetroot (also Beets) 24 May, annonymous (Australia - cool/mountain climate)
what is thinning?
Beetroot (also Beets) 26 May, Rach (Australia - temperate climate)
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure it's when you plant a couple of seeds close together and then you have to get rid of some (the weaker smaller ones) to make room for the others to grow properly, so you literally pull out the ones that you're not gonna keep for the benefit of the ones that'll be left behind
Beetroot (also Beets) 28 May, Chris (Australia - cool/mountain climate)
Beetroot contain several seeds in each 'seed capsule', so you need to thin them out (remove some of the seedlings) as several shoots will grow from each capsule. It's the same with silverbeet. You can eat the ones you remove!

Hey Harrison. .....was wondering if you can talk me through it. Eg which type you grow and how you water. Do you fertilise? I've got lots of cucumbers atm and would like to keep them going through winter. Will my cucumber seeds planted today grow ok as it gets colder? So many questions haha. Thanks for any advice ☺
Cape Gooseberry (also Golden Berry, Inca Berry ) 17 May, Lyn Teaf (Australia - temperate climate)
I have some gooseberry fruit and would like to know if I have to dry them out so the seeds are dry or can I plant the whole fruit. I live in Perth.
Cape Gooseberry (also Golden Berry, Inca Berry ) 29 May, Alison (Australia - temperate climate)
I live in Perth (hills) and have just potted on a few dozen small plants that I grew in a large foam container from seed. I had a mixture of dried seeds and seeds still inside the soft fruit (I wanted to see which would work best). All the seeds have germinated I literally have a few hundred seedlings. I am now in the process of seeing which growing conditions are going to work best up here. I think I will plant the seeds directly into the ground next time.
