What variety of lettuce can I plant in zone 7b?

When we were still zone 7b, i grew Grand Rapids leaf lettuce and was amazed when it produced most of the summer, but grew little in July and August. Then picked up in mid September. I did not pull it for the winter, but, left it. It died out, of course when it froze, but alas! Early the next spring it grew up beautifully, and we ate it again that year! We are not 8a, and I feel hopeful and pretty sure I will have the same success this year.
