You can plant it but you probably won't grow a crop, reason, it is the wrong season. Check and do as the planting calendar say at the top of the page.

Read the top of the page for planting times. Water today and tomorrow stick you finger into the soil 75 mm, if your finger is wet then you don't need to water. Small waterings to start with and then increase it as the plant grows.

The temperature in the freestate goes down to minus 10 ⁰c and 39 ⁰c in summer. Can i plant garlic to grow during the winter here?
