(Best months for growing Celeriac in Australia - tropical regions)

  • S = Plant undercover in seed trays
  • T = Plant out (transplant) seedlings
  • Grow in seed trays, and plant out in 4-6 weeks. Sow seed at a depth approximately three times the diameter of the seed. Best planted at soil temperatures between 46°F and 70°F. (Show °C/cm)
  • Space plants: 18 - 31 inches apart
  • Harvest in 14-28 weeks.
  • Compatible with (can grow beside): Beans, brassicas, carrots, leeks, lettuce, peas, sage, tomatoes, onions

theitaliangardener.com is a good source of seeds - celeriac & others. All 'celery' are tricky to germinate- an old piece of wool carpet over the top helps prevent drying out , which they are very sensative to, personaly I havent found them frost tender at all (& we get -5C a lot)!

Marinus, Try The Lost Seed, Eden Seeds or Green Harvest. All currently list celeriac seeds for sale. I've bought other seeds from each of these places and have been satisfied with their service and quality.

Milton have a look at www.edenseeds.com.au that is where I got them, as well as other seeds and they were all viable. I strongly recommend them.
